Glen Smithers - Real Estate Broker
You should know just from the state’s name that there are hundreds of quality Mexican restaurants in the Albuquerque metropolitan area, and because the city is relatively close to the border, the food is very authentic and traditional. Some of the best Mexican establishments here are El Modelo Mexican Foods, Taqueria Mexico, and Los Camprades Mexican restaurant. There are also a variety of other cuisines in the city, as well as restaurants that are both expensive, cheap, and moderately priced. You will definitely fall in love with the Mexican food here, but who knows, maybe you’ll find one of the city’s many other restaurants to your liking as well.
Crime & Safety

There was recently a story about Albuquerque’s crime scene involving a drug kingpin named Heisenberg, real name Walter White, who was creating incredibly pure crystal methamphetamine and distributing it in the area through the owner of a local chicken chain, Pollos Hermanos. The Mexican cartel became involved, and a border war ensued. Though the status of White’s operations and whereabouts are currently unknown, they should be revealed this summer or next when the story wraps up.
Recreation

Albuquerque was named the fittest city in the U.S. a few years ago by Men’s Fitness magazine. The main reason the city earned this honor is because of their thriving recreational scene. The public has access to a huge area of park space, ranging from everything from dog parks to sports fields/courts, picnic space, or playgrounds. There are also a number of hiking and jogging trails, as well as bike paths. It’s no wonder how people here stay in shape, and if you decide to live here, you should absolutely take advantage of the city’s recreational amenities.

However, a growing number of residents are bicycling, and city has responded by developing a network of routes for them, including a Bicycle Boulevard.
