The campus’ location in Kentfield gives easy access to residences to a decently sized commuter college. The campus nicely situated by Sir Francis Drake and College Ave roads, makes this campus easy to find. It’s proximity from the 101 almost makes it very navigable. The campus is also about 34 minutes in light traffic, but it frequently gets congested in that area so it might be wise to give yourself enough time to get to school to avoid slowdowns.

The warmest months in Kentfield, California are in July and August, the temperatures are quite comfortable on average hovering at around 84 degrees during those months. Nights are nice a cool at an average of 53 degrees. December and January are the coolest months with the average high getting up to 56 degrees, with an average low hovering around the 40 degree mark. An interesting fact is that Kentfield gets some of the most rain in the San Francisco Bay Area, the most rainfall that fell in a month was in February of 1986 at a whopping 26 inches, so the weather can get a little rainy.

This campus is in downtown Houston is on countless METRO bus routes and the METRORAIL routes. If you want you can actually purchase bus passes at the Cashier's Office on the third floor of the campus’ main building. you can even pick up a bus schedule right there in the hallway if you need some guidance. The METRORAIL station is actually located right outside the door on the campus, and if you just need a buzz around downtown the trolley system also sponsored by the METRO can get you around for free.

The top four employers in the area are St. Charles Medical Center, Les Schwab Tire Centers, Sunriver Resort and T-Mobile. The earliest the bus stops is at 5:32am and the last stop there is at 7:02pm on the weekdays and Saturday. The bus does not run on Sunday anywhere in city limits. You can also get on the Route 5 bus connecting from Route 6 and 9. The bus is always an efficient and inexpensive form of transportation if you decide to live a bit further from campus.

There are plenty of delicious delights located a few blocks from campus in Columbus, Georgia. You can grab some Italian food at Johnny Carino’s, they have a good selection of pasta dishes and very good bread. If that doesn’t suit you, head over to Applebee’s down the way, they have your normal American staples such as burgers, chicken, and appetizers. If you want to grab a steak, only a few short blocks away you can satisfy your need for red meat at Burt’s Butcher Shoppe & Eatery. Of course, as any larger city has, many restaurants which include flavors of the Caribbean, the Far East, and of course America.

Inver Heights is a suburb of Minneapolis/St Paul so there are plenty of things to do in a very short drive. The Minneapolis Institute of Art is a major museum that’s only a 25 minute drive from campus, and the best part about this museum is that’s free. They have a fantastic array of art from all centuries and from all kinds of artists. If you’re into sports, can’t go wrong with heading over to Target Field to catch a baseball game or two. There are always plenty of places to relax, such as the Lake of the Isles, Chain of Lakes and Minnehaha Park. You can watch the birds, sit and think, or take a nice leisurely walk around.

The Arts Center, located at the campus is a lovely facility and premier venue for any kind of performing arts show you can think of. There you can hear classical and jazz music, coupled with fantastic performances of opera and ballet. You can’t beat the atmosphere felt there. There are also many festivals such as the Sombrero Festival, which happen the last weekend in February. The tradition started in 1986 which has local music, unique food and a jalapeno eating contest. In the Bronx you can always catch the New York City Subway run by the Metropolitan Transit Authority. You can take the subway practically anywhere in New York for only a few dollars. You can purchase a Metrocard at the station to ride conveniently. From campus you can take the #1 train all the way down to the South ferry Station at the bottom of Manhattan. You can connect to the A&C trains, as well as the 7 train. Consult your subway map before embarking on your journey if you’re not familiar with the area.

Boston usually gets all the traffic for things to do since it’s a half hour drive from campus, but Easton does have a number of things to do in town. Borderland State Park is a lovely place to visit when you’re in Easton, there are easy-to-navigate trails, a pond, and open fields. They also have a disc golf course which is completely engulfed in nature. Of course if you’re bored you can always head on up to Boston for more things to do, such as a visit to the New England Aquarium or Museum of Art.

Stonehill is situated in Easton, Massachusetts which is 22 miles outside of Boston. The school has very few incidents of violent crime, property crime, fire and threats. Stonehill College has a campus police department that hosts a variety of safety events on campus each year to make their presence known. They do routine checks for emergency preparedness and publish a report based on crime statistics on campus for the public to view. Over the past year there has been 15 incidents of property crime on campus and 6 instances of personal crime. In Easton, there are very few crimes, there hasn’t been a murder in over 10 years.

The city of Santa Fe offers a bus service through it’s Santa Fe Trail system. The bus runs to campus from early in the morning to late in the evening. Make sure you catch the Route 21 bus from Santa Fe Place. The weekday bus runs about every half hour or so. The first bus arrives on campus at 7:45am, last bus departs at 9:49pm. You can always take the New Mexico Railrunner, a commuter rail that stops nearby at the NM599 depot and from there you can take the Route 22 bus for a direct ride to campus.

NTC’s main campus is located not far off of US 51 on West Campus Drive so it won’t take too long to get to campus from any part of town. Be mindful of rush hour times because Wausau isn’t a small down, as it has over 35,000 people buzzing through its city limits. If you live closer to the campus you can take many side streets to reach your destination, 3rd ave, 1st ave and Burek Ave all intersect with campus drive making your commute easy and painless.

Cold doesn’t even begin to describe the climate in Wausau, Wisconsin where NTC’s main campus is located. Their average January temperature only gets to 17 degrees, with a minimum temperature that frequents the below zero numbers. On record the temperature dipped to -22 degrees, yes, negative twenty-two! Summers aren’t hot, even though records can be broken. In the hottest month, July, the average temperature is only 70 degrees - quite comfortable! Wausau does get a lot of snow in comparison to the rest of the country but luckily Wausau isn’t in a snowbelt, so they only get roughly 60 inches of snow per year.

Within a mile from campus you have a vast array of cafes to perk up your caffeine buzz, such as One Love Cafe just down the street, or a bit further down Acoustic Java. Bryant University has an interesting organization geared toward commuters. The Commuter Connection office is located on the 3rd floor of the Bryant Center and they have meetings on Wednesdays to plan activities to help commuters get involved with on-campus activities and to help them meet other students. Bryant is located on Route 7, just off of Route 295 in Smithfeild Rhode Island. The campus is located 15 minutes from Providence and 45 minutes from Boston - which can make a trip to campus a little irritating if you’re driving during rush out to or from those cities.

Morrow is in Georgia, which means it’s going to be warm and humid in the Summer and warm in the Winter. Even though Georgia is far south, the temperature remains relatively comfortable during the summer, however the humidity is what gets to people. Even in the coldest month of January the average high temperature is 45, but the highest average temperature comes in August at only about 79 degrees. Morrow usually gets less than one inch of snow per year due to its southern location. Morrow does get a lot of precipitation, roughly 45 inches per year but almost all of it is in the form of rain.

There are plenty of bars and clubs to frequent in Olympia, albeit a small drive from campus. The Brotherhood Lounge on Capitol Way is a favorite among residents. This dive bar is cash only, so keep that in mind. The establishment even has a smoking lounge where you can smoke, drink and not have to face the elements outside. As an added bonus they have movie nights on Sunday. Another place the locals enjoy is the Eastside Club Tavern, they also are cash only, but has a great atmosphere to relax and have a drink with friends on a Friday night. If you’re into dancing the 1230 Room is the place for you, this dance club has a full bar, and a live DJ - so dance your heart out on Saturday night!

Evergreen has quite a few special events each year that might perk your interest. In October Evergreen holds its Annual Harvest Festival. They have workshops that include wine & beer making, jam making, and canning. They also have tours of the school’s farm and garden. The event is free to the public, so it’s definitely worth checking out. The school also hosts periodic events with special guest speakers and other live events. Last year they hosted the Tenth Annual Latino Youth Summit where workshops covered topics such as applying for college and financial aid.

They have burgers, chicken ,salads and tacos all for reasonable prices. Also by campus is Ted’s Cafe Escondido, which is a nice place to get authentic Mexican food. At CMU, they offer on-campus housing where rates run from $4362 for a double room per year, to $6892 for a “Grand Mesa Super Single Suite” per year. Keep in mind if you’re staying on campus you must pay for your housing in full by the first day of class - no monthly rent payments. So if staying on campus isn’t for you, there are plenty of apartments in the area. Average rent is around $650 a month, much lower than the state average at $800. Be sure to inquire about apartments as soon as you know you’re going to be going to CMU, apartments around campus fill up fast.

There are amazing sights to see in Grand Junction, CO home of Colorado Mesa University. The Colorado National Monument is an amazing. Great wildlife, hikes, and even camping if that’s what you’re into. They have a very interesting Dinosaur Museum with life-size robotic dinosaurs that makes for a very thrilling yet educational experience. Another gem of Grand Junction is the Western Colorado Botanical Gardens located at 641 Struthers Ave, not only do they have countless plants but even have a live butterfly room where you can view the twittering wings of those colorful insects.

Bus service in Marietta, GA is provided by Cobb Community Transit (CCT). Although bus service doesn’t run directly to campus, it is a brief walk from the nearest stop to the school. If you are looking to get to campus via the bus, take the #10 bus to the Marietta Transfer station. Once at the station, turn right and walk 1 ½ blocks to the campus West Entrance. You can purchase a Breeze Card which allows you to ride the bus without having to bring cash along with you on the trip, which can make travel a lot easier.

SPSU offers a Career center to help students develop career and life planning skills. They also help students acquire work experience and master their job search. They do this by helping with resume building, interviewing, and helping students find internship opportunities. In Marietta, Georgia where the campus is located the unemployment rate is at 8.4%, which isn’t too good. However job growth has had an uptick at .81%. The average household income is about average with the rest of the nation at $47,396 so going to college would definitely be beneficial to land a higher paying job.
