Pinellas Park is home to 15 parks, including two equestrian centers and a dog park. The largest is the Helen Howarth Community Park, which is 60 acres of open space, several sports fields, and a paved trail. Loyd Tingler Park has 6.43 acres of green space surrounding a lake, and a boardwalk near the water. The Town Square Park Plaza hosts special events, such as the annual “Country In The Park.” It is also home to the England Brothers Bandshell, which is the city’s concert venue.

Public Transportation

On a national scale, Pinellas Park doesn’t have the best public transportation infrastructure, but its one of the better systems in the area. They have their own transit company, Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority, which operates 205 buses and trolleys. They run 37 routes through the county, with stops in all the major cities, including express routes to Tampa. The city is also serviced by Hillsborough Area Regional Transit, and has an Amtrak station. They are also one of the stops in the proposed light rail line that will service nearby Tampa, Clearwater, and St. Petersburg.

Land O’ Lakes has more to offer to the food industry than just being the namesake of the famous butter brand. The restaurants here are excellent, such as Rapscallions, a seafood eatery in the city. For breakfast, swing by The Breakfast Nook for some healthy portions of southern home cooking. For lunch, go enjoy the Cuban sandwich, and other local flavors, at Larry’s Deli & Sandwich Shop. If you want dinner, you can’t go wrong with Hungry Harry’s Famous Bar-B-Que, Ginza, or Benedetto’s Italiano.

Schools & Education

Currently, there are hundreds of apartments available for rent in Wesley Chapel, and more being added each day. Wesley Chapel is an extremely desirable place to live, because of its proximity to Tampa, low crime, and the fact that it’s a quiet city (low population of families with children and college students). This hasn’t always been a great city for renters, but new growth in residential real estate is changing that, and it shows that many people, and renters, are choosing to move here.

Crime & Safety

Crime & Safety

Jan Simmons - Property Manager

Wesley Chapel is one of the safest communities in the state -- there is 74% less overall crime here than the average Florida city. The chance of being affected by a violent crime here is only four out of every thousand residents, and for a property crime, 19 out of every thousand residents. On a scale where 100 is the national average and anything lower is safer, Wesley Chapel had especially low scores in robberies (3), larcenies (7), and assaults (14).

Apartment Costs

Apartment Costs

Jan Simmons - Property Manager

The average two bedroom apartment in Riverview goes for $915, which is almost identical to Tampa’s price ($923 for the same space). There are definitely cheaper cities nearby, such as Gibsonton ($775), Seffner ($859), and Brandon ($882). However, there are also more expensive places, such as Tampa, Valrico ($926), and Apollo Beach ($1208). A one bedroom place in Riverview costs $784 on average, and a three bedroom will typically go for around $1281.

Traffic & Commuting

Traffic & Commuting

Riverview is a city that was designed for driving. There are shopping centers, strip malls, parking lots, and wide streets everywhere, with thin or nonexistent sidewalks on most streets. The city’s dependence on driving is also apparent in the fact that 97% of its residents drive to work every day. Tampa is only 14 miles away from Riverview, and Florida 618 takes you there directly. However, traffic can slow you down: the average one way commute to work for residents is 29 minutes.

Public Transportation

Brandon has four Amtrak stations and two airports within 30 miles of its center. To get around the city, there are four local lines provided by the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit. Four additional express lines service Brandon, and go to either Downtown Tampa, Dover, MacDill Air Force Base, or Fish Hawk. It should be noted that despite these options, public transportation in Brandon is very unpopular. Less than 1% of Brandon’s residents use it to go to work every day.

Brandon is the birthplace of Beef O’Brady’s, a chain restaurant in the southeastern region of the country, which is just a taste of the culinary excellence you can find in the city. For the best Italian in the area, head to Della’s After Dark. For Cuban, La Septima Cafe has you covered. There are also great Asian spots, such as Taste of India (Indian), Ploy Thai (Thai), and the Silverspoon Pakistani and Indian Restaurant (Pakistani). These are just a few of the excellent eateries here in Brandon.
