Crime & Safety
Evelyn Troy - Real Estate Agent
Neighborhood Cluster 14, which includes Glover Park, Cathedral Heights, and McLean Gardens, show one of the lowest crime rates of any cluster in Washington, D.C. Glover Park in particular had gained a reputation for just the opposite of that, showing high rates in the 1990’s. However, the neighborhood has been reformed, with revitalization of apartment complexes and small businesses in the area making it a more popular destination for young professionals. Grover Park has become a popular home to those in and just out of Georgetown University, as well as other young ambitious renters, and crime rates have declined accordingly. This is a very safe and peaceful community.
Nightlife
Evelyn Troy - Real Estate Agent
Glover Park has a great little local nightlife scene. There are around ten bars, and while none of them boast large dance floors and house tunes, they all offer their own version of a good time until 2 or 3 am. Breadsoda is very popular, offering games like ping-pong, shuffleboard, pool, and darts in a retro decorated modern “hipster” type bar. Town Hall is a bit more intimate, with dark lighting and more of a lounge atmosphere. Bourbon is the closest thing to a dive bar you’ll find in Glover Park, a simple watering hole with good tunes on the juke. Mayfair & Pine, Mason Inn, Surfside and Slate Wine Bar & Bistro are also great places to grab a drink, but are not as popular for the party crowd, closing earlier than the others.
