The neighborhood is home to Ballard High School, which is the longest-running high school in all of Seattle. It has a very unique magnet program -- which is a specialized curriculum -- for biotechnology. It has earned above-average ratings on Great Schools, which grades every school in the country. All the schools in the Ballard community are run by Seattle Public Schools, which is, in my opinion, considerably better than most large cities’ school districts. It should go without saying that there are also numerous private schools in the city that are viable options for your kids as well.

Ballard has a great waterfront location, and takes advantage of it with landmarks like the Golden Gardens Park. This public area has beaches, trails for hiking, nature, and playgrounds. It’s considered by many to be the most beautiful park in Seattle, and if you live in Ballard you will probably spend many warm summer nights here. In addition, Ballard has delicious restaurants that are making my mouth water just thinking about them. Plaka Estiatorio, Paseo, The Walrus and the Carpenter, Mr. & Mrs. Wok... the names may sound strange, but the food is downright incredible at all these places. In fact, I think Ballard could make a run at Seattle’s best foodie neighborhood. If I had more space I would write all the things you can do in Ballard and nearby downtown Seattle (less than ten miles away). Give me a call or shoot me a message and I’ll continue to list things off as long as you want me to.
