San Jose’s light rail infrastructure is the most popular way of getting around via public transportation in the city. There are also buses that can take you to the stations, or you can simply take the bus to your destination. Shuttles are available as well, and if you go to the Diridon Station you can hop on your choice of three train services: Amtrak, ACE, and Caltrain. This is just a mile from Downtown, and the San Jose International Airport is only three miles away. San Jose’s public transit options may not be as extensive as San Francisco’s, but they’re still solid.

San Jose is considered to be part of the famous Silicon Valley, and has enough local businesses to back it up. The city is home to the headquarters of tech giants like Adobe, eBay, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Verifone, Cisco Systems, and countless others. If you’re looking to start a career in these fields, there isn’t a better place in the country to live. Although tech companies dominate the economic landscape here, there are plenty of other industries here too as well. Overall, San Jose is making a name for itself and is giving San Francisco a run for its money for the title of the best Bay city to start a career in.
