Traffic & Commuting
MyApartmentMap Guide - Real Estate Agent
Midtown commuters arguably have it easier than any other neighborhood in St. Louis, as they have direct access to three Interstates that are also the most important roads in the metropolitan area. Interstate 64 runs right through the middle of the neighborhood; if you can find local real estate next to it you could avoid a lot of the irritating traffic in the area. Interstate 44 is two blocks south of Midtown’s border, but even though it’s not actually in the neighborhood it’s easy to get to. Interstate 70, similarly, is two or three blocks east of the community, and is very easy to access. In addition, Downtown St. Louis is just a couple miles away from Midtown.
Demographics
MyApartmentMap Guide - Real Estate Agent
Midtown is a fairly diverse region of St. Louis; there are sizable populations of three races. The majority of people who live here are White, 61.9%, but Blacks, 25.8%, and Asians, 9.2% also have a presence in the neighborhood. Saint Louis University calls Midtown home, and it’s a larger school than most people realize with 10,000 total students. Although the students are spread throughout the city, the highest concentration of them is in Midtown. Because of this, the overall demographics of the area tend to skew towards a younger population.
