Restaurants
Local Guide - Real Estate Agent
For restaurants, East Avenue has trusted chains as well as local flavor. In the morning, you can swing by the Dunkin’ Donuts or Tim Hortons for coffee or breakfast, or wait until lunch and go to Subway. For small, locally owned restaurants, Ristorante Lucano is my favorite Italian restaurant in Rochester. It’s sort of on the expensive side, but so worth it. The Char Steak & Lounge is another trendy spot, as is the Pomodoro Grill and Wine Bar. East Avenue doesn’t have the most options in Rochester, but the blend of national brands and local eateries comprise the nice little culinary scene.
Apartment Costs
Local Guide - Real Estate Agent
East Avenue is one of the most affluent areas of Rochester, and it’s very apparent when you see the neighborhood’s grand mansions and high-end apartments and condos. Most of the listings for the area are over $1,000 a month; even some of the one bedroom properties. It’s possible to live here for under a grand, but the rental won’t be as nice. The price of a lower end apartment here is similar to luxury apartments in other areas of the city. So if you’re intent on living here, be ready to throw a bit more cash into the ring, or hope you find a deal.
