To answer the question of best restaurants in South Reno, I asked my clients for their opinions. I have favorites of my own, but I thought you might want to hear from fellow renters like yourself. A couple that I helped find a home last year told me that they love A Taste of Thai’s authentic cuisine; it’s located near Ward 2. Another client, a bachelor, told me that he has taken quite a few dates to La Vecchia, which is a terrific Italian place on Skyline Boulevard. I think the best restaurants in the city are in Ward 3, but rest assured, there are many places in Reno that serve up delicious dinners.
Crime & Safety

South Reno is one of the safer parts of the city. Specifically, New Washoe City is a community that has received high marks for its low crime. The Verdi/Lawton area in southeastern Reno is always a “safe” bet too, pardon my pun. The center of the city -- more specifically, Route 395, Mill Street, Vassar Street, etc. -- is the least safe, so I would stay away from there if you can. There are crime databases online that can tell you which streets to steer clear from; if you can’t find them, let me know. I have access to them and would love to help you find a safe place to rent.
