Schools & Education
Local Guide - Real Estate Agent
This neighborhood is best known for housing nearly all of Brown University, as well as significant parts of the Rhode Island School of Design. These schools are a major factor in nearly all facets of the community: they own and preserve the historic architecture, they attract the vital young adult demographic, they hold local events, they bring diversity to the area... you get the idea. Without the schools, especially Brown, this neighborhood would be nowhere near as prosperous as it has been. I would say that College Hill is one of the best neighborhoods for students in the country, and is definitely among the top in the Northeast United States.
Nightlife
Local Guide - Real Estate Agent
College Hill is a great neighborhood for nightlife because of the venues it has in the community and its close proximity to downtown Providence. There are plenty of popular college lounges, dive, pubs, etc. that are filled every weekend with students. There are also local restaurants that have cheap dining options for the “college budget,” as well as more expensive options for what I like to call the “wedding anniversary budget.” But if this neighborhood doesn’t offer enough nightlife for you, downtown Providence is less than a mile away.
