Northwest Neighborhood Summary

Northwest has earned the nickname of “Nob Hill” after the famous neighborhood in San Francisco. Northwest throws densely populated residential areas alongside hoppin’ retail and restaurant districts to create a distinct vibe all its own. NW 23rd Avenue is the place to go during the day, with lovely upscale shops and cafes, as well as the famous music retailer Music Millennium. NW 21st Avenue is the hot spot at night, with a number of different restaurants, bars, clubs, and an indie movie theater. All of these booming business districts stand in stark contrast to the lovely historic buildings of the Alphabet District. Residential options vary dramatically. You can find anything from newer apartments to older single-family homes. Regardless, you can guarantee that you’ll be located close to the hustle and bustle of Northwest’s prevalent business districts. This neighborhood is an attractive option for both young professionals and students, as it’s located close to Downtown, PSU, and OHSU.
