The South Side area of Pittsburgh is a hotspot for nightlife, having bars and clubs of all varieties from upbeat dance clubs to good-time dive bars. Lava Lounge is great for dancing, sometimes to 80’s hits, and is decorated to emulate the inside of a volcano. The Z lounge is another popular dance club. The Smiling Moose is a large bar that often has live bands and is a favorite of many in and around the city. Piper’s Pub is popular for British food and beer, and Brewski’s is the favorite local dive. Sports and drinking go hand in hand in Pittsburgh, and Pregame and Thirteen Eleven provide great opportunities for that. There are around 70 bars in South Side.
