Fox Chase’s further location (it’s more than ten miles away from downtown) may be an annoyance for your everyday commuter schedule, but it makes up for it when it comes to housing value. Because Fox Chase isn’t located right in the city, properties aren’t as ludicrously expensive. If you’ve been looking in other popular Philadelphia ‘hoods, you’ll be surprised to see that many of the rental price tags here are in the hundreds. It’s not uncommon for renters here to land a great pad that has a monthly rent that’s less than a grand. See for yourself: browse the listings on here or contact me.
Traffic & Commuting
Local Guide - Real Estate Agent
Fox Chase is much further away from the Philadelphia City Center than most of the city’s neighborhoods. In fact, you could consider it a suburb with a distance of 12 miles from downtown. Even with the city’s extensive subway and rail service, the majority of the public transportation options offered in Fox Chase are SEPTA bus routes; there is only one other option, which is a commuter rail service. The most popular mode of transportation by far is driving, and the commute takes at least a half hour no matter which way you go. When you’re considering whether to live in Fox Chase, it’s important to take the long commute (with fewer public transit options) into account.
