Free Stuff to Do in Greenwich Village
Greenwich Village is famous as being the home of many a starving artist. There have been many movies, plays, etc. that have paid homage to this former (and present) artist's enclave. But let's say you don't have the means or the desire to trek all the way uptown to see works of the masters. ...
View GuideHave Some Fun In Greenwich Village
I didn't even know this existed until today and being the great rock n' roll fan I am I thought I'd share this with you. Greenwich Village has its own Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Annex on Mercer Street. I'm not one of those people who is willing to pack up the car and spend my vacation at the Rock ...

Public Transportation
MyApartmentMap Guide - Real Estate Agent
The Village is located approximately two miles north of downtown Manhattan, which is walkable if you’re in good shape. But most people who live here will just go to the one of the subway stations nearest to where they live. Over 50% of New Yorkers take public transportation to get to work every day, which is the highest transit usage rate in the entire country. The Village offers access to commuter trains, buses, and as I mentioned, the subway. And though there may not be subway stops on almost every block like in other neighborhoods, there are a solid variety of lines that run through this neighborhood. Depending on your destination, you will have to go to a certain station in the Village, and it would be a smart move if you picked a rental that was closeby.
Renter Friendly
MyApartmentMap Guide - Real Estate Agent
If you’ve heard of the Village before, it probably has to do with something art-related. This area has been one of the largest homes to artists in the city, but it’s also been a center for gays in New York. However, to say these are the only types of residents the Village has would ignore the gentrification that occurred here over the last few decades. Because of this, families have been moving into the neighborhood more frequently than I can remember seeing in the past. Real estate here has become incredibly value, but this isn’t surprising considering its location in Manhattan. It’s a very renter friendly part of the city, and if you contact one of the agents on this site I’m sure they will be able to help you find a rental here.
Apartment Costs
Ronnie Shumake - Real Estate Agent
This is one of the most in demand and as such, expensive areas in the entire city. You can find some great spaces here, but be prepared to spend top dollar. The area is ripe with services, amenities, restaurants, shopping and other options such as a wealth of transportation options.
