Why Has Chelsea Become So Desirable?
Chelsea is that area in Manhattan's West Side spanning 14th Street to 30th Street, Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River. A very eclectic neighborhood, its streets are dotted with beautiful townhouses, prewar buildings, and post-modern gems. 25 years ago real estate agents couldn't give away ...

Schools & Education
Local Guide - Real Estate Agent
Chelsea’s fashion and art-heavy culture is evident even in the local schools, such as the Fashion Institute of Technology (which is part of the State Universities of New York system) and the School of Visual Arts. There’s even high schools called the New York City Museum School and the High School of Fashion for students who are interested in the field. There are also traditional public schools, of course, such as the William T. Harris School and the Chelsea School. For private high schools, the Xavier High School is located here.
Recreation
Local Guide - Real Estate Agent
Chelsea’s rich culture makes it stand out in Manhattan, which is really saying something considering how much the borough has to offer. The Rubin Museum of Art, the Chelsea Market, the Barneys Co-Op, the Hudson River Park, the Chelsea Art Museum, Joyce Theater, and the Kitchen all offer different types of things to see and do, whether it’s shopping, theater, art viewing, or outdoor recreation. Chelsea’s demographics show that there is a large creative class living in the neighborhood, and you can tell from the culture here. If I were to pick out a favorite part of the community to visit on the weekend, it would probably be the Chelsea theatre district.
