Uptown has been home to musicians like Lil Wayne, Louis Armstrong, Harry Connick Jr., athletes like the Manning family and Drew Brees, and other famous New Orleans residents. It’s definitely one of the most popular parts of the city to live in, especially after the Hurricane. Sectors of Uptown were hit, but a large portion on higher that was on higher ground escaped without too much damage, and because of this many businesses and residents moved to the area. Uptown is one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods--its historical district is nationally recognized--but it is thriving and is more renter friendly now than ever.

Uptown is a large area of the city with many fauborgs, which if you’re unfamiliar with the French culture here, is another word for a suburb. Some of the municipalities that are encompassed in this area are Jefferson City, Hurstville, Rickerville, Greenville, and Burtheville. New Orleans is a city that is full of spirit and individual flavor, and each neighborhood has its own style that sets it apart from others. Uptown is arguably the best area of the city to rent in, but choosing to live there is the easy part; now you have to research the communities and fauborgs.
