Westville is served quite adequately by a few different transit companies. CT Transit bus routes B, Q, and Z provide local service around the New Haven area, and offer connections to rail service outside the city. CT Transit also offers a commuter rail (Shore Line East), offering service between New Haven and New London stations. Amtrak provides several means of transit, travelling further than the busses and commuter rail. The regional route travels from Boston, MA to Newport News Virginia; the Vermonter travels from Washington, D.C. to St.Albans, VT, and the Acela Express from Boston to Washington, D.C. Amtrak also operates shuttle trains from New Haven to Springfield as well as van and car service for local travel. New York’s MTA Rail serves New Haven in the Westville area as well, via Union and State Street stations. Seasonally, residents can also get ferry service to Martha’s Vineyard.
