Public Transportation
Evelyn Troy - Real Estate Agent
If you rent in the Third Ward, you will notice that people who live here walk a lot. The neighborhood received an 86 rating on a recent Walk Score, which puts it in the top ten for Milwaukee’s most walkable communities. And, not to mention, downtown Milwaukee is about a half mile away. So, if you have a job there, or another nearby area, you can walk there, provided it isn’t raining or snowing. Another option is biking, which is certainly reasonable with the short distance. If you don’t want to walk or bike, the city provides bus service to the main streets of the neighborhood.
Nightlife
Evelyn Troy - Real Estate Agent
The neighborhood’s riverwalk, along the Milwaukee River, is probably the most popular nightlife activity (in the summer, at least). There are a number of restaurants and shops right on the river, so you can walk along the water and scope the great views, then grab a bite to eat at any of the community’s acclaimed restaurants. There are also Sizzlin’ Saturdays, which are essentially block parties with local merchants, music, and of course, food and drink. They are very well-attended and draw residents from around the metropolitan area. If you ever want to spend a night outside of the Third Ward, downtown Milwaukee less than a mile away.
