Coral Way is served abundantly by Miami-Dade Transit (MDT), by both bus and rail. 3 of 23 Miami Metrorail stations are located in Coral Way: Vizcaya, Coconut Grove, and Douglas Road stations, all operating on the Green Line. Metrorail consists of 25 miles of track throughout the core of Miami, and provides connections to more expanded rail systems. Metromover is a free rail service, travelling through all of downtown Miami and to Brickell. South Florida’s commuter rail system travels throughout southern Florida, up to West Palm Beach. Both of these systems can be accessed on the green lines of the Metrorail available in Coral Way. Metrobus also provides extensive service, with around 90 routes, some operating 24 hours, most 4:30 am - 1:30 am. Metrobus serves all of Dade county as well as some of Broward. With proper transfers, one could travel the almost 5 hours from Jupiter to Key West via Metrobus service.

The Coral Way neighborhood consists of 8 sub-neighborhoods: Shenandoah, Silver Bluff, Vizcaya, Coral Gate, Bryan Park, Golden Pines, Parkdale-Lyndale, and South Miami, which are served by Miami-Dade County Public Schools. This is the fourth-largest school district in the United States, with the second-largest minority majority enrollment. Elementary students in this neighborhood are zoned to one of six elementary schools, continue on to Shenandoah Middle School, and are zoned to either Booker T. Washington, Coral Gables, or Miami Senior High School. There are a great amount of private or charter and goal-specific schools within the school district and serving Coral Way, including seventeen application-based magnet high schools.
