There are currently under 4,000 housing units being built in the city at the moment, spread out over 15 new buildings in five neighborhoods. These buildings vary from lofts, to traditional apartments, to studios, and more. And get this: there are more than another 3,000 housing units that are currently proposed and will likely be built in the near future. Kansas City is a flourishing city, and it’s a terrific sign that its housing is keeping up with the growth. It’s also encouraging that so much of the housing being built are rentable properties, because leasing has definitely become the most popular way to live in a city.

The Business District is the economic anchor for the entire city’s metropolitan area. There are many big businesses and corporations headquartered here, especially recently: there has been over $5 billion of new construction in this area, and much of it has been dedicated to businesses. For example, H&R Block, AMC Theaters, Aquila, DST Systems, and UMB Bank are a few of the businesses that have headquarters here. In the past, it was difficult to be a young professional in Kansas City because there weren’t as many opportunities. But now, this is definitely a city on the rise, and has shown significant commercial, corporate, and business growth in recent years.
