Recreation
MyApartmentMap Neighborhood Expert - Property Manager
Montrose has been called a “mad mix” referring to its population of artists, musicians, eccentrics, and the industry that supports those lifestyles. Montrose is a great walking neighborhood, boasting many vintage, thrift, and antique shops, as well as local restaurants and bars unique to the area. This is not true of most of Houston, making experiencing Montrose itself a form of recreation and enjoyment. The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston as well as the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston are both located in Montrose, as is the Menil Collection, a free museum consisting of a philanthropic couple’s art collection. There are also venues to bring out every resident’s inner artist, such as Dr.Sketchy drawing class, and Pinot’s Palette painting workshop (which allows potential artists to bring their own beer or wine!). Making lists of both strangest and best neighborhoods to live in, Montrose has plenty to keep residents entertained.
