For new comers or even for me a permanent resident in Waikiki, the Honolulu Festival has been always a must to go. It's usually a week long event. Parade on some days along with street vendors of all kinds (art & food) . This year the Festival happens on 02/27/2013-03/04/2013.
Recreation
MyApartmentMap Neighborhood Expert - Property Manager
There are countless things to do in Waikiki! The 1.5 mile beach alone offers a variety of activity, such as renting rafts and surf and paddle boards, or just lounging. As this is a major tourist getaway, Waikiki has set up many attractions such as helicopter tours, shark cage encounters, parasailing and swimming with dolphins. There are also luaus daily and fireworks on Fridays. Other attractions include the Waikiki aquarium and Lost tours of two or five hours (yes, where the show was filmed!). There are also activities less aimed at tourists, such as 15 art galleries, multiple museums, including coral exhibits and Teddy Bear World, Winner’z Zone casino, and the Magic of Polynesia magic/shock show. Information on all Waikiki fun and more can be found at waikiki.com.
