North Shore is thought of by many to be the best surfing spot in all of Hawaii, and perhaps the world. Surfers from all over make the pilgrimage here to ride the huge waves and enjoy the area’s stunning beaches. Surfing is an intricate part of this community’s culture, as mostly everyone does it or knows someone who does. If you rent here you’ll try it at least once, and who knows, you could fall in love with it. If not, you can still be a beach bum and enjoy the perfect weather here on a white-sanded beach. North Shore is far from the urban part of Honolulu, but there are still plenty of outdoor activities to keep you busy on a sunny weekend.
Weather
Local Guide - Real Estate Agent
Many renters begin their Honolulu housing search because they want to live in the city’s beautiful weather. And really, I don’t blame them at all. The temperatures here mostly stay constant year-round, as every month averages highs in the 80s. The main difference lies in rainfall: in the summer, it barely rains at all. However, from November to April, there’s an average of two or three inches of rain every month. But still, would you rather live in a city that has to deal with snow in the winter, or a tropical city that has some showers in the winter? And for those who worry that it gets too hot in the summer, the highest temperature ever recorded here in 95 degrees F, and it rarely ever gets that hot. Some people think that moving somewhere just for the weather is foolish, but when you think about it, it’s an aspect of the city that you have to deal with every day, like transportation and crime. If living in a sunny tropical city makes you happy (why wouldn’t it?), then I would highly recommend living in Honolulu.
