Downtown Honolulu is home to around 50 nightlife venues. Although that is around half of Waikiki’s, the Downtown area makes up a substantial part of Honolulu’s nightlife scene. Hank’s Cafe Honolulu is the most popular spot among locals, considered a dive bar with regular live music and eclectic decor. Thirtyninehotel is a popular spot for dancing; very modern and complete with an art gallery. The Venue is just that, showcasing popular and local bands frequently. Lotus is a high energy techno club, popular especially, but not exclusively, to tourists. Since the area caters to tourists, nightlife is kept modern and always exciting.
