Clintonville was founded in 1847, which makes it over 150 years old. You can see the area’s age in the architecture and streets; it gives the community a beautifully historic look and feel. Also, there are around 30,000 residents in Clintonville, which makes it one of the most populated neighborhoods in Columbus. Clintonville can be divided into four distinct districts: the Southside, the Northside, Beechwold, and North of Morse. Each district has its own quirks and look, from the higher end, early 20th century styles of the Northside to the more commercial North of Morse. Clintonville has a strong recreational history. Olentangy Park was the largest amusement park in the country, and had a zoo, water slide, and four roller coasters. Even though it’s now closed, the community’s recreation is carried in parks like Whetstone, Antrim, and and the Anheuser Busch Sports Park. Whetstone is by far the most popular -- it occupies 136 acres of open space, including the award-winning Park of Roses, which is a 13 acre garden of roses. There are also trails, sports fields, a pond, and special annual events like Fourth of July fireworks. If you like to be outside and enjoy the warm weather, look for a rental near Whetstone Park.
