MyApartmentMap Guide - Real Estate Agent
Uptown is divided into five separate neighborhoods. It’s debated whether there are more sub-districts, but in my eyes these are the five true areas: North Uptown, Little Vietnam, Sheridan Park, Buena Park, and Margate Park. North Uptown is arguably the most historic part of the neighborhood--especially in gangster history. If you’re familiar with any Chinatown areas, they are similar to Little Vietnam, which has a large Asian population. Sheridan Park is home to Truman College, and also has its own historical district. Buena Park is known for its unique prairie-style homes and its popular neighborhood group. Lastly, Margate Park has a beautiful lakefront community, a very diverse population, and has a rich entertainment history.

Uptown Chicago’s nightlife has really been flourishing, as it has become a hotspot for tourists. But to say that only tourists can enjoy the nighttime activities here is just wrong. My favorite spot is the Annoyance Theatre, which features one of the funniest ensembles in the country. Don’t believe me? Stephen Colbert, Jane Lynch, and Jason Sudeikis are alumni. The Riviera Theatre and the Aragon Ballroom bring some of music’s biggest names to Chicago, such as U2, Snoop Dogg, The Clash, and the Rolling Stones in the past. There are also restaurants, shops, bars, clubs, and countless other nightlife activities that will easily fill up your weekend slate if you live here.
