Irving Park’s close proximity to the Kennedy Expressway makes it a perfect location for workers who commute by car, but not everyone has access to a vehicle. Or, some people just don’t want to deal with the hassles of owning a car (gas prices, keeping it in tip-top shape, etc.) so they rely on public transportation. If you plan on renting in Irving Park and taking public transit, you will become very familiar with the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA)’s Blue Line. This is a branch of the Chicago’s “L” rail line, and it has three stops in Irving Park: Montrose, Irving Park/Pulaski, and Addison.

MyApartmentMap Guide - Real Estate Agent

Little Casubia is a community of Irving Park that is home to a large Polish population, and is considered a historical district. California Park is another area that is very family-oriented with a lot of single-family homes. The Villa is a neighborhood that is recognized for its unique architecture: bungalow and prairie-styled homes, and the Romanesque St. Wencslaus Church. Old Irving Park is considered the core of the community, and arguably has more history than any other Irving Park neighborhood. Like any neighborhood, Irving Park has smaller districts--aside from the few I described, there are around four or five others.
