The Elizabeth Community Association organizes events throughout the year for entertainment, goodwill, and to build a strong sense of community. During the holidays, the city of Charlotte organizes most of the big events, such as parades and festivals. However, Elizabeth has come up with several of its own annual traditions, such as Easter Egg Stuffing Party and Hunt, neighborhood holiday party in December, Trunk or Treat, and Elizabeth Recycles Day. The ECA also organizes regular activities throughout the year, such as Independence Park maintenance project, tree planting, and gardener’s workshops. They hold an annual Elizabeth 8K, and regular neighborhood socials at different restaurant, bars, and galleries within Elizabeth. Nightlife

There are approximately 20 nightlife venues in the 1.3 square miles that make up the Elizabeth neighborhood of Charlotte. While there are plenty of places to grab a drink, is it a little slow here; there are no dance clubs or lounges with ropes at the door. What there are plenty of is live music venues and relaxed pubs. The most popular are Double Door Inn; more of a bar with a stage, and Visulite Theater; more of a stage with a bar. Loft 1523 is a nice, mellow lounge, and Jackalope Jack’s is the best place to catch a game. Another place worth knowing about in Elizabeth is Crown Station, which transforms from coffee shop to swingin’ bar between 7am when it opens and 2 am closing time. There’s plenty of nightlife here, and for those looking for more flashing lights and dance tunes, Charlotte is a big city.
