Williamsburg is a foodie paradise; boasting over 500 restaurants of every taste, expense, and atmosphere. Some local favorites are: D.O.C Wine Bar for Italian, Momo Sushi Shack for sushi and other Japanese food, Egg for breakfast, which closes at 6 pm but serves breakfast all day, Graham Avenue Meats & Deli for amazing sandwiches, and for vegans or vegetarians Foodswings has an amazing and unique menu and stays open until 2 am. As we cannot talk about New York without talking about pizza, Fornino: The Art & Science of Pizza is great for a sit down pizza experience with a great wine selection, and Vinnie’s is a great place to grab a slice. This is not even one of every style, but some good places to start.

Williamsburg has available public transportation via land and water. The Brooklyn-Manhattan Transit Corporation (BMT) runs two train lines through the district, the Canarsi Line (L) and the Jamaica Line (J, M, and Z). The Independent Subway System (IND) runs its crosstown line (G) through Williamsburg. Several bus routes (B24, B44, B46, B60, and Q54) terminate at the Williamsburg Bridge, while routes B43, B48, B62, and Q59 run through and serve the area. As of June 2011, the North Williamsburg Ferry Landing provides East River Ferry service into Manhattan every 20 minutes during rush hour, and hourly otherwise.
