Park Slope is served quite adequately by the New York City Subway system. The Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center station operates the BMT Brighton Line, with trains B and Q serving Park Slope, BMT Fourth Avenue Line, trains D, N, and R serving the neighborhood, and the IRT Eastern Parkway Line, trains 2, 3, 4, and 5. The IND Culver Line also serves the neighborhood running along Ninth Avenue. All of the lines running through the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center station offer connections to various subway lines around New York City, as well as transportation opportunities outside the city and state. Public transportation is the preferred method of travel in Brooklyn, and this busy little neighborhood is no exception.
