Schools & Education
Evelyn Troy - Real Estate Agent
Midtown is pretty well-known for its education and culture. Personally, I don’t think the community’s culture, like its thriving art scene, would exist without the great educational institutions here. The Atlanta campus for the well-respected Savannah College of Art and Design is located here, as are the main campuses for the Georgia Institute of Technology and the John Marshall Law School. These schools attract a young student population that keeps the area trendy and innovative. As for K-12 education, Atlanta Public Schools operates an elementary school, a middle school, and a high school in Midtown.
Recreation
Evelyn Troy - Real Estate Agent
Atlanta has an expansive park system, and one of its jewels, Piedmont Park, is Midtown’s Focal Point. This 189-acre public area -- with a 50-acre expansion added in 2011 -- is perfect for exercising, recreation, or just taking a break from the bustling urban lifestyle on a warm sunny day. There’s even a pond for fishing, along with unrestricted dog access, and numerous fantastic festivals. Any outdoor activity you could ever want to do becomes reality in Piedmont Park. As for indoor activities, Midtown has the best art scene in all of Atlanta with institutions like the Woodruff Arts Center, the Fox Theater, the High Museum of Art, and the gorgeous botanical garden in Piedmont Park. Whether you like to stay inside and enjoy art, go outside and play, or a little bit of both, Midtown has all the amenities you could ask for.
