Apartments Near Imperial Valley College

Public transportation in Imperial is not too bad. There are Greyhound buses and Imperial Valley Transit buses, too. IVT has a stop on campus at IVC, and Express options for students with Red and Black Tickets. You can ride to either El Centro with a Blue Ticket, and with a Green Ticket, many surrounding locations, even as far as Winterhaven and Bombay Beach. Riding with IVT is very inexpensive. As nice as the Express options and stops for IVC students are, there is still a desire for more services and more reliable service. There are no dorms at IVC, so all students must make their own living arrangements. There are not many apartments available in Imperial, so those wanting to rent in apartment will generally have to live in El Centro, about fifteen minutes away, or Brawley, about twenty minutes North. About a third of IVC students are over the age of 30, and have established a place of residence in the area. In El Centro, most one-bedrooms are around $1000/month in apartment complexes, though private listings, and there are some options around $600/month.
