College of the Redwoods

The Redwood Transit System is responsible for providing public transportation access to students, and they run half-hour bus routes from 6AM to 9PM that can take students to surrounding areas like Eureka and Bayside. But for students that have their own vehicles, getting around campus is just as convenient. Route 101 snakes alongside the western border of campus, so students can hop on the highway, get off, and immediately pull right into the school. It keeps from too much traffic congestion around the campus, and is an easy commute for students. Route 101 is next to the wildlife refuge and South/Humboldt Bays, so it has great scenery as well. CotR has a rural campus that is a dream come true for outdoor fanatics. The beautiful Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge is within walking distance of the campus. It offers incredible wildlife watching, and is one of the best nature experiences in the area. There are numerous other parks nearby that allow other outdoor activities like biking, jogging, and picnicking. The South Bay, Humboldt Bay, and best of all, the Pacific Ocean is just a few miles away. Whether you like sunbathing on the beaches on a warm day, or taking refuge in the cool shadows of the Redwood forests, if you like being outside you will never run out of things to do here.

Methodology

Each month, using over 1 million Rentable listings across the United States, we calculate the median 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom rent prices by city, state, and nation, and track the month-over-month percent change.
