Find a Verona Apartment

Verona is a highly residential suburb of Madison, about 10 miles southwest of Madison’s downtown area. It’s a quick trip to the city, and Verona itself is booming with new constructions, mainly single-family homes and apartment complexes.

Some of this quick growth is due to the allure of Madison, Wisconsin’s capital and one of its most liberal cities, but it’s also fueled by an enormous company and employer: Epic Systems. If you’ve driven through the Verona area, you’ve probably spotted the sprawling campus that features themed buildings — including one modeled after a red barn — a treehouse, waterfall, restaurants and an on-site dry-cleaners. Epic, the creator of one of the most popular healthcare software providers in the country, employs more than 9,000 at the Verona campus.

Epic’s steady growth means development in Verona is burgeoning, leading to new restaurants, breweries, shops, and luxury apartments, such as West End Apartments and Ten35, populated mainly by young professionals.

On top of the basics such as Blain’s Farm & Fleet and Walgreens for picking up essentials, Verona also boasts local boutiques, including the Purple Goose for clothes and accessories and Sow’s Ear, a combination coffee shop and yarn store.

The Wisconsin Brewing Company set up shop in Verona in 2013 and has quickly grown to be one of the area’s favorite beermakers, with favorite brews like the Inaugural Red and Golden Amber Lager. Throw back a beer while enjoying live music nearly every weekend night throughout the summer, and set up a tour to see how the magic is made.

For more beer options — it is Wisconsin, after all — with a side of dinner, check out Drafthouse Bar and Restaurant, which is littered with TVs for game day, or Mr. Brews Taphouse, a regional chain known for its astronomical array of beers on tap. Pasqual’s Cantina, a Madison-based Mexican food chain, is a perfect stop for a quesadilla and one of their famous margaritas. Sugar River Pizza is another spot to find great local, fresh food in Verona.

If you’re looking the space to play, the Ice Age National Scenic Trail spans 1,200 miles through Wisconsin and runs right past Verona, as does the Military Ridge State Bike Trail, which can take your right into Madison. If you find an apartment by either of these trails, you’re always only minutes away from recreation and outdoor activities. Four county parks are right nearby, including the pet-friendly Badger Prairie and Prairie Moraine county parks. Just to the northwest of Verona, the Upper Sugar River Watershed is a great kayak and canoe launch spot.
