I am a current SCAD student with a Saint Bernard dog and I need to rent an apartment that will allow me and my dog. Any suggestions?

Hi Tatiana! Have you looked into The Blake? It's a very easy walk to most SCAD buildings and minutes to the bus stops so you can get to every single building in a breeze. They're filling up very very fast & the last few people to sign are getting a huge deal - they're currently having a huge special for $300 off the first month's rent and waived signing fees (no money down!!). They have a resort style pool, pet friendly, and a 24hr fitness center.. definitely check it out. :) theblakesav.com

Hey there! I have a place only about five minutes walking distance to closest SCAD building/bus route so easy to either walk to class or catch the bus. Also within walking distance to Forsyth Park and the beautiful cafes/shops around the park has to offer; located at the intersection of Montgomery Street and W. Hall Street. The unit includes 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, living room, kitchen, and plenty of storage (possible to turn into another bedroom). The space will be vacant after December 15th and appointments can be made any time to visit/view the apartment. Laundry units are available on sight on the first level of the complex. Rent is $950 a month. Pets are allowed! (Brand new heating/AC recently put in). I actually had my own dog while living here and it was really easy because the park was super close by AND because I had a little yard behind me to let him relax in.

Hi! I looked for you on the MAM site. What I did was make the selection strictly for listings in Savannah, and then in the Advanced Options tag I put "Allow Large Dogs," and a dozen or so listings popped up. I'm not sure what is in your price range, and you'll have to double-check with the apartment owners to verify they accept your dog's breed. The link to my search is here.

The Links at Georgetown have one-bedrooms beginning at $775/month, can be reached at (866)629-2264, and are located about 20 minutes from campus.

About 10 minutes from campus is the Walden at Chatham Center, where one-bedrooms start at 795/month. They can be reached at (855) 210-0192.

Georgetown Crossing, about 20 minutes away, has one-bedrooms for as low as $722/month. The number for them is (912) 335-4158.

A fourth option is a little less than 20 minutes away, at the Viera at Whitemarsh. A one-bedroom there is $799/month, and their number is (877) 642-1990.

If you can round up 3 roommates, I'm renting a 4 bedroom house in Gordonston, a great neighborhood near downtown. (It has a 5 acre dog-friendly fenced park.) It's listed through Fox properties currently as "no pets" but I have a soft spot in my heart for St Bernards. (There's also a fenced yard.)

There's a bus stop literally in front of the house. Great transportation links to SCAD campus. Cost is $1600, but that's only $400 per room. Give Fox properties a call and tell them I said your dog would be ok.
