Property Manager asking for a Rent Guarantor. Does anyone know what a rent guarantor is? I am staring at a rental application and it is asking if needed, who my guarantor will be? Is this like a co-signer? Why might this be required?
It is someone that is willing to pay your rent if you are unable to repay your rent. This is required so that the landlord will still receive rent if you are unable to pay the rent. Hopefully this won't be necessary, so be certain that you will be able to pay your rent, even if you lose your job.
