Do I need a credit check? I looked at an apartment the other day and the landlord is requesting a credit check. I don't like giving out my social security number. Is there anyway around this?
If this is what the landlord requires, than he has the right to do so. I would look at another apartment if you don't want a credit check. Not sure what else to give you for a suggestion. You may be able to talk to the landlord and see if you can forgo the credit check.
