Problem with my landlord in South Orange. Without getting into too many details, my landlord and I are butting heads. He is overstepping his boundaries and is basically violating my rights as a tenant. What can I do? Does the city or state have a dept. that handles these types of situations?
I hate those types of situations. Luckily the town has a way of dealing with this that's on their website. Their policy is to report any tenant-landlord conflicts to the Rent Leveling Board. Then these reports will be handed over to the Clerk's office in Village Hall. I hope this helps, and remember that you should try to work things out with them yourself before you report it.
