Homeless in Grand Forks, ND. I am not personally homeless, this question is more about the homeless folks who camp out near my apartment. I feel horrible and try to help out whenever I can, but I can't do enough. I am not sure about the resources Grand Forks offers, but would love to be able to tell some of the men and women what is available to them. Is there someone here who might be able to point me in the right direction?
Red Lake Homeless Shelter is nearby and there is a soup kitchen in Grand Forks. I admire what you are doing and that you want to help the people, but you need to try to remember that you can't save everyone. It is depressing to think this way, but there are people all over the world suffering and it is not possible to help them all. I know it is even harder when you see them every day, but try to detach yourself from the situation and help them without hurting yourself or feeling bad. The best way to do this is to vow to only help them by volunteering at the homeless shelter or the soup kitchen. this way you associate these laces with helping the homeless and then your home or apartment does not become somewhere where you feel guilty if you are not helping them.
