What questions to ask when looking for apartment. I'm looking for my first apartment, I'm not sure what procedures to go through as for references can that be friends and family members? co-workers? What usually comes along with the apartment utilities?
The best reference to supply is a letter from an old landlord (if you've rented before). That way your new landlord knows that you're a great renter and person, whereas a reference from a friend or family member only tells them about your personality. However, if you can't get a letter from a landlord or if you're a first-time renter, a reference from a boss (current or past) at work would be great. Utilities depends on the property, some have washer/dryers and some don't. Hope this helps.
