Restaurants
Richard M. Lansing - Real Estate Agent
Williamsburg’s colonial sites aren’t the only places in town that are ripe with tradition. Many local restaurants aren’t chains, but rather are family-owned establishments that serve meals made from recipes passed down through generations. Some of the best restaurants, like Fat Canary, the Trellis, Le Yaca, and the Second Street Restaurant are some of the best places to eat in the region. I know that college students eat on-campus most of the time and save trips to restaurants for when their parents visit or for dates, but keep these names, or any other of Williamsburg’s tasty eateries, in mind.
Recreation
Richard M. Lansing - Real Estate Agent
Williamsburg has tremendous history, and every student in the city should check out historical attractions like Jamestowne, the Governor’s Palace, and other colonial sites. However, these aren’t places you can spend weekends with friends. If you don’t have a vehicle, I would recommend finding a friend who does. This will open up the possibility of driving the 50 miles to Richmond, a fun city that draws students from all around the area on weekends. You can also drive to the Chesapeake Bay or any of the smaller bays like Cobham, Burwell, or Mobjack. You should seek out local places too, like Waller Mill Park and on-campus parties, but it’s nice to be able to have the option of going to Richmond or the water.
