Off Campus Housing Assistance - Real Estate Agent
The University of Utah is located in Salt Lake City, which means that apartment prices are higher than a university in a more rural setting, like a small college town. However, there are also benefits to living here. There are more rentals available than average, and you have several unique neighborhoods around the city you can choose from. Capitol Hill, Sugar House, Downtown... all these areas have their own pros and cons, as well as plentiful housing, which makes living off-campus easy. But as I mentioned, it’s a bit more expensive--for listings within ten miles of campus, the average two bedroom price is $895 per month. For a one bedroom, the typical cost is $709 per month.

The University of Utah has a dry campus, so unfortunately there aren’t many bars or clubs near campus. If this is your scene, you should check out downtown Salt Lake City, which is way more active on the weekends than it used to be. There is a light rail service and a bus line from campus that can take you to and from downtown in a matter of minutes, which is helpful if you’ve been drinking or don’t have a car. As for on-campus nightlife, there are always house parties or Greek parties that you can go to, and the university is great at hosting events for students. The best events to go to, in my opinion, are sports. The school has a lot of great teams; as of late, their football team has received national attention and attracts people from all over the state who want to see them play.
