The Monster Car Wash Coffee Bar & Grill is a unique place where you can grab a burger and a beer... all the while having your car washed, and enjoying the live music that is performed some nights. Plenty of nationally-recognized names are present in Edinburg, like Pizza Hut, Subway, Sonic, Red Robin, Popeye’s, Papa John’s, numerous McDonald’s & Burger Kings, KFC, Jack in the Box, Denny’s, Dairy Queen, you get the picture. On-campus at UTPA, there is a C-store, Flatbread cafe, coffee shop, Chick Fil A, and a few other small dining locations besides the Bronc Dining Hall. Students enjoy the campus food, but all the fast food restaurants are pretty close by too.
Public Transportation

The Valley Metro/ Rio Metro buses make a stop in Edinburg, connecting it with Hargill, McAllen, and Elsa. It has stops at University Plaza as well as the Southside of UTPA. UTPA students ride the Rio Metro free with ID. Ridesharing is also available through the UTPA Student Government, which encourages carpooling. Students recommend owning a bike for travel around campus. A fair amount of students do own cars, too.
