Texas isn’t exactly known for widespread public transit service, but in major cities it’s very easy to get around using public transportation. El Paso is no different. Right now there are several buses (15, 204, 10) that run near the school’s campus, and they can take students anywhere in the city or it can take them to the bus or train connections they need. In fact, the Union Depot train station is just a mile away from campus, and it runs two train routes through Amtrak. It won’t be as easy for students to commute on the train, but the local buses are a viable option for everyday commuting.

El Paso is known as the Sun City for, as you might’ve guessed, the high amount of annual sunlight it receives. Usually, the sun comes out in around 300 days of every year. The downside of this is a dry desert climate and only ten inches of rain (almost all of which falls in the summer). In non summer months, it’s not unusual to receive less than an inch of rain. However, it’s something you get used to, and you won’t be complaining about the weather in the non summer months. Winters are very mild, with average temperatures in the 50s and 60s. Summer months can be unbearably hot with temperatures in the 90s, but fortunately there is little to no humidity here.
