Public Transportation

There are three train stations (Tulpehocken, Chelten Avenue, and Queen Lane) are within a mile of the university’s campus. Depending on which part of campus you frequent the most, you can ride the rail to and from one of the three stops every day. Many off-campus commuters use the train on a daily basis, while others use buses. The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) runs buses that connect the campus to the surrounding areas. The campus may be a far away from the urban areas of Pennsylvania, but public transportation is still prevalent in the area.

Philadelphia University’s nightlife pales in comparison to other local colleges like Temple, Penn, and Drexel. These schools are closer to Philadelphia’s center city area, which is also a possible destination for students. Whether you’re going to other schools to party or to downtown Philly, public transportation can get you there and back. But if you want to stay local, the university is located in a town called Manayunk, which has its own bars and clubs that are fun too.
