The crime rate on-campus at UToledo is not very high. Less than 10 sex offenses happen annually, and there are a few hundred incidents of burglary/larceny, but this isn’t so bad considering nearly 24,000 students go to this university. The vast majority of arrests are alcohol-related. In Toledo as a whole, the crime rate is fairly average for a city of its size. The university is not in one of the safest neighborhoods, but most students feel very safe. The North/East sides of Toledo has the highest rate of crime. The bad parts of Toledo include Bancroft & Cherry, Dorr St, Parkside, east of 75, Hawley & Colburn, and Collingwood.
Traffic & Commuting

For those commuting to Columbus, the traffic is rough, however in Toledo itself, traffic is not bad. The roads are easily navigable and parking is plentiful in most areas. Even during rush hour, commuting is not a hassle in Toledo. Personal cars are necessary since public transit is minimal, and Toledo is not an especially bicyclist-friendly city. Compared to other cities, the traffic in Toledo is basically nonexistent.
