CSCC occupies a large chunk of downtown Columbus, which has a lot of upside, especially for a young college student who likes to party in the city on the weekend. However, it’s also a part of Columbus that has one of the city’s highest crime rates. The safest neighborhoods here aren’t located near downtown, but are further away in communities like Mount Air in northern Columbus, Havens Corners to the east, and Blacklick Estates to the southeast. If you want to stay close to school while living in a safe neighborhood, the Brewery District and German Village in southern downtown are areas to look into.

Downtown Columbus is a block away from CSCC, the Columbus Museum of Art is three blocks away, the Jefferson Avenue Historic District is four blocks away, and the Upside District is ten blocks away. All the city’s best culture and events are within walking distance of CSCC, and with the Columbus College of Art and Design, the Capital University Law School, and Franklin University nearby, you’re bound to meet other young adults in the area who are interesting in the same activities you are. Most people don’t know that Columbus has double the population of Cleveland and Cincinnati, and has much better nightlife and culture as well.
