Downtown Winston-Salem is 3.5 miles from Wake Forest, which equates to about a ten minute drive. The quickest way to get there is to take University Parkway, but if you want to drive to places further away you should take US Route 52 or Interstate 40. Some students who have cars choose to live a bit further from campus, in communities like Pfafftown, Lewisville, Walkertown, and King. However, the majority of students stay local, as there are a ton of rental opportunities near campus, some of which are even within walking distance of Wake Forest.
Nightlife

WFU runs shuttles from the school’s campus to downtown Winston-Salem’s art venues, bars, clubs, and restaurants. Unfortunately, the campus isn’t within walking distance of any spectacular nightlife opportunities, so students will have to take some form of transportation if they want to leave campus. However, many students, especially those that are under 21, stay on campus for the Greek life events and student parties that are held every weekend. Also, a lot students stay for the school’s sporting events. For example, the basketball team, which usually does well every year, always plays in front of sold out crowds
