Crime & Safety
Apartments Near Campus - Property Manager
If you’ve seen the bank robbery movie “The Town” starring Ben Affleck, you probably have a perceived notion that Charlestown is a dangerous part of Boston (the movie said that the neighborhood has one of the highest bank robbery rates in the country). There has been no proof that this is true, and locals didn’t like how their community was portrayed in the movie. In reality, Charlestown, which is home to Bunker Hill Community College, is one of the safest areas of Boston. There is a genuine togetherness that locals here share; it’s one of the last parts of the city that still has a sense of community. If you enroll at Bunker Hill, I wouldn’t worry about safety at all.

Apartments Near Campus - Property Manager
Because there isn’t any on-campus housing provided by Bunker Hill Community College, many students are left scrambling for other options in Boston. Beginning an apartment search in a large city like Boston is daunting, especially for a first timer. The first thing I would do is figure out how you will be commuting--if you have to take public transportation to class, you need to find a rental near an Orange Line stop (on the city’s T subway system). Apartments are much cheaper the further you get from downtown Boston. So instead of looking in neighborhoods like Back Bay or the North End, Orange Line neighborhoods like Jamaica Plain or Roxbury may be more viable options.
