Boston College’s name is misleading because the school isn’t actually located in the city in Boston, but rather in the suburbs of Chestnut Hill and Newton. However, it’s very easy for students to get from campus to the city. The B (Boston College) line of the Green Line on the subway (T) is the easiest way, although students can also take the D (Riverside) line. These T rides usually take from 45-60 minutes, and run until 12:30 AM. As for on-campus transportation, there are free bus shuttles provided by the school that run until 1 and 2 AM on the weekends. These shuttles can take students from their dorms/apartments to their classes, or to other forms of public transportation like the T.

BU students may debate this, but Boston College has the best collegiate sports in the area. Their hockey team has won the national championship several times in the past decade, and the football and basketball teams always draw large crowds, even in off years. BC students may have to travel to the city to see the professional sports teams like the Red Sox and Celtics, but many Bostonians travel out to BC’s campus on the weekends to attend their sporting games. Even if you’re not into sports, there’s still a lot happening on the campus every weekend. There are school-sponsored events, as well as parties happening at fraternities and nearby apartments. Many students also take the T into Boston on the weekends.
